the proposal 2

roses  Since many of you are not with me to ask about the story, I thought it was time to share.

First, I want to give all the glory to God and thank Him and bless His holy name! He is the one that helped me put this together, and opened my eyes to see Steph’s heart and desires. Our aim in this relationship is to glorify God and be an example of Christ’s love to the church. To get a deeper understanding, read Ephesians 5:22-33. Praise the Lord!

Ok, it all started on March 20, 2014, which was our 2 year anniversary for our relationship (3rd year of knowing each other). ***Also, fun fact: this was the 2nd year for the worldwide “Day of Happiness,” which is on March 20!!***

I started off going to her house and having breakfast with her and giving her a rainbow rose (which I made myself) to represent our past. So many different colors, and some brighter than others, but all of which were opportunities to glorify God and become more like Him. It also reminded us of the rainbow God send after the flood, which symbolized a promise, which God will also give to us.

Then, before going out to lunch, I gave here a special rose to represent the present. The rose was full of life and beauty, resembling this very special day!

Later, we went to proposeHuanchaco beach and walked out to the pier. As the sunset, I gave her the last rose, which was a woven rose. This rose was different than the first too, because this rose would never die, just like my love for her! Then after a few cute phrases, I got on one knee and asked the question: “Quieres casarte conmigo?” and she said, “Si!”

I took her to a special dinner that she thought would just be for the two of us, but I had it all planned out for her friends to celebrate with us, and it was such a wonderful time of celebration!

Then the next day, we had a celebration with her family. And the day after, we celebrated with the children and moms at Elim, the garbage dump ministry. [I proposed 3 times!] What a wonderful time of celebration and also giving glory to the Lord for what He has done in our lives. And thanks to you for your words of encouragement and prayers, we feel so blessed and loved!DSCN3198
