send me to… 1

And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” [Isaiah 6:8]

Then I said, “Here am I! Send me to Peru to help with the children that have been orphaned and the people living on the garbage dump and the children –”

*clears throat*

“Yes, here I am! Willing to go to Peru, and while I’m there I can even reach out to the young men at the university and teach English to the –”

“What? God, shouldn’t You be more excited? I mean Here Am II’m willing to go to Peru and –”

*blank stare*

“Oh…yeah…here am I, willing to go where You send me.”

    Keep reading Isaiah:

Go, tell the people that they’re deaf and blind and won’t understand anything you tell them. That’s right, I’m telling you that your mission is going to fail. But I want you to do it anyway. Because I’m God. I showed you my glory so you would understand. It’s the only way anyone obeys a mission like that.

Go where and do what God says. It doesn’t often make sense. But if you’ve seen and known him, you will. Because he’s God and that really is all the reason you need.
