Most likely, you will be grocery shopping and cooking for yourself and, at times, enjoying meals prepared by local cooks. Meals prepared by local cooks reflect the various cultural dishes from that region, with a few North American style meals here or there. While specific recipes and flavor profiles can vary greatly throughout Latin America, staples include meats and fish/seafood, lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and starches including rice, potatoes, corn and grains.

Housing may vary from site to site, but all will include safe housing with toilets, running water, electricity and showers. Many of our sites feature dorm-style housing with bunk beds, while others may feature small houses, apartments or guest houses. It is possible that you could stay with a missionary in their home, rent an apartment, or stay at one of Inca Link’s guest houses. Housing will be solidified and discussed with you prior to your departure date.

The application process consists of an application, 3 references, at least one interview, and a background check.

Inca Link is aware that emergencies may happen and we are able to help you get home. We can help you work with the airline to change your flights and Inca Link may be able to reimburse you for the cost, depending on the funds available in your account. Leftover funds not used from your internship can be saved for a future trip or donated to Inca Link for ministry use.
