Terrific Tuesdays 7-12-22

Happy Terrific Tuesday! We are in Trujillo, Perú, with some of the leaders of our Inca Thakhi ministry: Ronald, Marlin, and Amerlisa.

  • What is Inca Thakhi? Inca Thakhi is a discipleship ministry for kids. The word “Inca Thakhi” comes from the languages of Aymara and Quechua. “Inca” means “the King” and “Thakhi” means “the way,” so Inca Thakhi means “The way of the King.”
  • What do short-term teams y interinos do at the ministry? Right now, we are working with helping the students in their studies, and we need people to help us with tutoring and to teach the children to read and write to excel in school. We also have leaders who are working in music and arts and crafts. Each of these leaders here attended the ministry and were discipled when they were younger, and now they are the leadership and helping disciple the new generation.
  • Joca started this ministry, and he and his wife Alex now run it together. This time, we wanted to interview some of their disciples. They are doing a great job of discipling over 80 children, pre-adolescents and adolescents, and connecting them to local churches. We are seeing a lot of fruit from this ministry! Have a great week, and thanks for being with us!
