Anna’s main role at Bonsai is connecting sponsors and donors with what is happening at Bonsai. Since 2017, she has worked on developing a sponsorship program that provides the majoirty of Bonsai’s funding. She compiles and writes reports on each child to send to their sponsors. Each report includes pictures, the child’s basic information, and updates on what is going on with the child at home, school and Bonsai. She translates letters sent by sponsors to the children, and helps the children send pictures, letters, and birthday greetings to their sponsors. Anna also coordinates yearly gratitude campaigns to thank donors and let them know what God has done at Bonsai during the year. She works alongside other staff to keep the Bonsai website and social media up-to-date, and assists in other administrative tasks.
At Bonsai itself, Anna helps with the Bible lessons and music, tutors in the classrooms, teaches vacation classes and helps lead games during free time. She partcipates in regular family visits to encourage families in healthy relationships, academic goals, financial independency, and spiritual interest.
