Ministry Special Project
Mission
Equipping and connecting local churches to make disciples of Jesus among youth, their families, and the community through the power of soccer.
Vision
To see churches in the rural communities of Ecuador using soccer to make disciples of Jesus Christ.
Challenges of young people
Poverty (35% of Ecuadorians still live in poverty), limited access to college, gangs, addiction, abuse, broken relationships, mental illness, questions about their identity, futility, and the list goes on.
Challenges of a rural church
Rural Ecuadorian churches are struggling to connect with the youth. Some may lack the vision, knowledge, or resources necessary to set up a sustainable program.
Let’s make a change
We believe that soccer is a powerful tool for the local church to connect, build relationships, and share the hope of the gospel to the youth. Our objective is to nurture future “life coaches” who mentor and love young people, helping them navigate life’s challenges and grow into mature disciples of Jesus Christ. By God’s grace, lives are being eternally impacted, the local church is strengthening, and entire communities are transformed.
Strategy
1. Share a vision for local churches to use soccer as a ministry tool.
2. Train Christian leaders to start up a soccer program in their local church.
3. Equip coaches for sustainable ministry through ongoing support, encouragement, and trainings.
4. Develop leadership capacity of soccer ministry coordinators, who will provide vision and management of the local soccer ministry movement.
