Happy Terrific Tuesday! We are so excited because this week, we’re celebrating some amazing heroes and people that have God’s hand on them.
- We were just in Beulah Beach in Ohio with the Envision gathering, seeing directors from all over the world. God’s hand is moving in great ways all around the world, and we are grateful for that.
- We are officially on our home assignment, which means we will mostly be in North America this year. We’re so excited to have kicked off our official home assignment in Raleigh, NC, in the church where we fell in love with youth ministries – North Ridge Church. We love this church and are so grateful for the way they have shaped our lives.
- Here are some of our heroes that are pretty amazing:
- Paul and Lineth Overmoyer – They are in Colombia and they have been working with us for six years. Rich grew up with Paul and they were roommates; it has been fun to work together again. Be on the lookout for our year-end campaign about Casa Zoe, ministering to youth on the streets that have been displaced in Bogotá. We are also excited because Link Year (our gap year program) will have Amy, a previous Link Year participant, as a mentor! Paul and Lineth mentored and invested in Amy during her Link Year two years ago. What is Link Year? It is a six-month program working in three different countries with Inca Link ministries, all while being accompanied by a mentor. Other new ministries in Colombia are Confianza (Trust), which is a counseling program for those in need, and Nuevo Plan (New Plan), which is a music ministry.
- Matt and April Keifer – They have been working with us for four years now. They have three kids: Ava, Maddy, and Jack. We are always impressed with this family; they felt God’s call to the mission field and just Googled missions opportunities, and that’s how we got connected. Since they have been in Ecuador, Cumbre Alta has grown and grown! Now, Cumbre Alta is in Costa Rica and Bossier City, LA.
- Wilton Briones – He is from Manta, Ecuador, and he is one of the Bonsai drivers. He started with us before Bonsai became a ministry, and now he’s driving the kids from their school to the ministry, and then from the ministry to their homes. Be praying for him as they had some security issues recently.
- Javier – He was the neighborhood watchman where our first missionaries lived (the Taubes) in Costa Rica, and they struck up a relationship with him and found out that he loved the Lord. Now he’s part of our team at Tucántico, and we are so excited to have him!
Have a great week!
